Beneath the sky the color of polished pewter, a pristine blanket of newly fallen snow stretched across the Leelanau County landscape. My need to wander into winters wonderland brought me to Port Oneida and to one of the old farmsteads in Leelanau County. The snow muffled the sounds of the world, creating an almost magical silence. Its the kind of quiet that makes you want to hold your breath, to listen to the secrets that the land whispers in hushed tones.
