Time Stands Still

For three days and three nights, Time seemed to stand still.  I chased the sun to the east and then again to the west, in hopes to get a glimpse of it's first rise and final set.  Island life now cannot come close or comprehend what a day in the life meant back then.  Their future was to be our past.  So silent, Lake Michigan barely moved and whispered soft nothings.  What as their then, so quickly turned into our now.
